On Your Side After An Injury

Industrial accident claims life of employee

Those who work in the manufacturing industry often face hazardous conditions on the job that require them to take certain precautions. Unfortunately, not every industrial accident can be foreseen and prevented. There are many Missouri workers who have suffered serious injuries while on the job through the regular performance of their duties.

Emergency responders were recently called to an accident that occurred at a Mohawk flooring manufacturing plant. According to the reports, the 59-year-old man was grievously wounded while on the job. It was reported that he was struck by an industrial-sized roller.

Rescue workers attended to the victim and transported him to a nearby medical center. Sadly, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced deceased by a medical provider. The cause of death will be determined after a scheduled autopsy. Plant officials released a statement announcing the man’s death and expressed condolences to his family and co-workers as well as their intentions to conduct an investigation into this tragic death.

OSHA will also be conducting an investigation into this fatal industrial accident as is typical whenever a worker is seriously injured or killed while on the job. It is uncertain at this point what may have led to this tragedy, as the man was an experienced employee of several years. Whenever a Missouri worker is injured on the job, he or she may qualify for benefits from the state’s workers’ compensation program. In the event that an accident results in fatal injuries, the surviving family may receive death benefits. Workers are entitled to seek the assistance of an attorney who is skilled in handling these types of claims in order to receive the full amount of benefits to which one may be entitled.
