On Your Side After An Injury

Industrial accident at ammunition factory kills 1, injures 4

A massive explosion rocked an ammunition factory in Missouri on a recent Tuesday afternoon. The industrial accident claimed the life of one employee and caused injuries to four others. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms immediately launched an investigation and determined that there was no foul play involved.

According to investigators, the blast occurred at approximately 1 p.m., but the actual cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. They revealed that the explosion took place at the facility where primer mixing is done. Reportedly, the ammunition factory manufactures small-caliber ammunition for testing at the NATO test center as well as for the U.S. Army.

Authorities say a 55-year-old employee suffered fatal injuries in the explosion. The four other injured workers apparently needed no more than medical treatment at the site. All work was stopped immediately after the blast, and grief counselors were made available for employees. The official investigation to determine the cause of the explosion is ongoing. At the same time, investigators will determine whether this man’s death followed safety violations.

The surviving family members of the man who lost his life in this industrial accident can pursue financial assistance to ease the burden of end-of-life expenses and lost income. Navigating the death benefits claims might be challenging for any family at such a difficult time. However, they are entitled to seek the support and guidance of an experienced Missouri workers’ compensation attorney to handle the procedures for them. The lawyer can navigate both administrative and legal proceedings with the goal of achieving maximum compensation.
